About me

Hello I’m Helen and I would just like to tell you why I do this type of work.

I am fascinated and delighted by people and gain no greater sense of satisfaction then when I see someone make a life-changing realisation as a result of my working with them.

My 17 years working in businesses of widely differing sizes, in many different management roles have lead me to fully appreciate that the development of individuals personal and business skills is key to the sustainable success of any company. Those responsible for managing a business need this development to be dynamic and flexible to the changing demands on them and their teams. This is why I offer business and team coaching for business.

My experience has also reinforced my belief that personal development is at the core of every individual’s satisfaction from their life’s journey. I have coached countless individuals in my roles as line manager, HR manager and friend through life issues as well as business issues and have seen the difference it can make to their lives. This is why I offer a specific service for those who want to pursue coaching for themselves, outside of the workplace.

I learn continually, developing my own skills, self-awareness and motivation through formal and informal means. I learn from everyone I meet and all the experiences I have. Some significant learnings for me are:

  • I am a qualified Master NLP practitioner, I have also studied Gestalt and Transactional Analysis theory and advanced facilitation skills and I bring all of these influences to bear on my one-on-one coaching and team work.
  • I am a singer and songwriter, a poet and a dancer. I find that practising specifically creative activities enables me to bring more creativity to my work. I use ideas from the creative processes of all of these disciplines to help others to find and exercise their own creativity in dealing with their lives.
  • I hold two Masters degrees in business management, one from near the beginning of my business career and one undertaken latterly to allow me to reflect on my work experience against a theoretical backdrop. This has given me a multi-dimensional view of the kinds of issues that arise for individuals in business.
  • I continually challenge my own boundaries through new experiences and learning… and have undertaken a tandem sky dive and learnt to scuba dive within the last year.
Coaching is like making magic with people. The trick is to enable them to make it for themselves
